Students for the Exploration and Development of Space at the University of Michigan

About Us

Students for Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) is an international organization with the mission to promote and advance space exploration. SEDS@UM, the chapter of SEDS at the University of Michigan, achieves this goal in the greater U-M community through multidisciplinary technical project teams, professional development opportunities, and K-12 outreach events.

Outreach events are a great opportunity to interact with middle, elementary and high schools around the Ann Arbor area and excite them about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and space exploration. We also love bringing guest speakers to talk to the U of M community and host a Yuri’s Night celebration.

Technical projects are great to get involved with research, learn from and network with members and professors, and love and discover even more space exploration. Every semester we have ongoing projects and future ideas being developed and planned.

We are always thinking of how we can expand our offerings, so there are plenty of opportunities to design, propose, and lead new ideas!
