Jonathan Arenberg is Chief Mission Architect, Science & Robotic Exploration at Northrop Grumman Space Systems. His degrees are in physics and engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Arenberg has worked on the Chandra X-ray Observatory, the Starshade and James Webb Space Telescope and lead Northrop Grumman’s studies of Astro 2020 strategic missions. His current assignment is mission development in all areas of space science. Previously he has worked high energy lasers, metrology and other technologies. Dr. Arenberg is a member of US and ISO standards committees for lasers and electro-optics. He is the author of over 200 conference presentations, papers, book chapters, a recent book, holds a fifteen European and U.S. Patents and is an SPIE Fellow.
