BLUE is a program that is increasing student access to space by developing low-cost research payloads. This talk covers an overview of BLUE and the two current payloads being developed. Also discussed is the future of space accessibility and how students can get involved.
Owen Marr is a student studying Space Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan. He is originally from East Lansing and began studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2016. While he was an undergrad, Owen served as President and Vice President of SEDS. He also CoFounded the BLUE Program and currently serves as the Program Manager. Owen recently completed his undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering and begins his Master’s degree in the Fall of 2020.
Brandon Dix is an Aerospace Engineering junior interested in structures and mechanical design. He is the current mechanical lead of BLUE, and has successfully filed multiple patents for his design work.
